Yarmouth
Centre United Church is located just east of St.
Thomas at the intersection of Highway #3 and
Yarmouth Centre Road in Elgin County. Our
congregation comes from the surrounding rural areas
and from the close by city of St. Thomas.
Established in 1857 , the congregation began as a
Methodist church until it joined the union of the
denominations of Methodist, Presbyterian and
Congregational in 1925 to become part of the United
Church of Canada. The Yarmouth Centre congregation
has much to offer with its friendly atmosphere; a
well-maintained building, Sunday School for
children, youth programs, events for families and
Seniors, and various Bible Study opportunities. Our
mission is to be a people of God who proclaim the
Good News of Jesus Christ in worship and in loving
service to each other and to the world. |
